USF Alumni Association Hosts Reception With Honors College Dean

A computer engineering graduate of the University of South Florida (USF), Julius-Vincent Reyes works as the chief executive officer of JVR Publishing located in Land O’ Lakes, Florida. Today, Julius-Vincent Reyes is still connected to his alma mater and belongs to the university’s alumni association.

The USF Alumni Association allows friends and alumni of the university to connect with other like-minded individuals, support the university’s endeavors, and participate in numerous events. Founded in 1969, the nonprofit organization invites the university’s more than 280,000 graduates to join.

Dues for membership are 75 percent tax-deductible and generate revenue for the organization’s scholarships, programs, and services. New graduates receive a complimentary one-year membership, which begins approximately 6 to 10 weeks after commencement.

One recent event sponsored by the USF Alumni Association was a Jacksonville reception featuring Dr. Charles Adams, the dean of the Honors College. The event, which occurred on February 23, 2017, at Moxie Kitchen + Cocktails, brought together alumni and friends of USF to listen to what the dean had to say. More than two dozen people were on the guest list. Upon their arrival, they enjoyed complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.
